4th of July

Finally this 4th of July we had BIG plans...  After searching in two stores we finally found the floaty.  Bags were packed and off to Popsy and Mimi's house we go.  We invited our friends Drew and Mo and Matt and Laura to join us for some pool fun.  Austin, this was your first pool experience.  It was a lovely day but since the summer had been fairly cool (until July) the pool water didn't get much of chance to warm up.

Here your Popsy and Mimi are relaxing but I'm sure that a couple of hours before hand they were very busy, because they cooked up a delicious All American 4th of July BBQ for us.
Pre pool funk!

Hat, sunglasses, rash guard, swim diaper...check, check, check, and check!
Here you are pretty relaxed.  You made sure that your mouth was closed the entire time.
Daddy's trying to get you to smile...
                                          You still looking pretty serious
                                           Us in our hats!
I think you liked your hands more than the pool experience.
After we were all finished with the BBQ and swimming, Mimi made homemade ice-cream.  This was quite a treat!!

By early evening we had full intentions to go for a hike to watch the fireworks.  That all changed by 7 p.m.  you were sound asleep and mommy and daddy were tuckered out too.  While you were sound asleep, we watched the fireworks from the front of our house.  I know nothing special, but for us it was perfect!
