A couple of days before your actual birthday we had had a nice get together to celebrate you with friends and family. Here are some snaps of the guests.
And then really what would I do without family? Thankfully we all get along and enjoy being together. Austin, you are loved! It is fun to know what impact you have already made in just 365 days.
The last couple of functions that we have been to you were wired with silly energy. At one party you had the entire room laughing with your dorky dance moves and your head banging. I thought for sure that you would ham it up, but actually you were really calm. One of my favorite moments was when you took a sand pail and put it over your head. I think that you were trying to tell us that you needed a moment of peace. Maybe the singing, cake, and opening presents was bit much!
The highlight of your birthday day was when we went to Ryan and Marla's. Ryan has been your daddy's friend since they were in the 3rd grade. I have been Marla's friend since middle school. It just so happens that you were born on the same day as Ryan. They thought it would be fun for all of us to celebrate together. It sure was! Faith is just a couple of months younger and you two are pretty sweet together.
Mar made a delicious dinner and you enjoyed your first taste of BBQ chicken. She also made a yummy chocolate cake with the most perfect frosting that I've ever tasted! By looking at the picture I think you agree with me. Take a look at those candles! So thoughtful! This may be a new tradition that we will have to do every year on March 12th.
